What is an export mold?+

An export mold is built for transfer to and operation at a customer or nominated production facility. It therefore needs an agreed machine interface, mold standard, documentation, spares, acceptance plan and shipping preparation.

What machine information is required?+

Provide the target press model or interface requirements, platen and tie-bar limits, locating ring, sprue or hot-runner interface, ejection, electrical standard, water connections and any plant-specific mold standard.

What should be included in mold acceptance?+

Define the approved resin, molding trial conditions, T1 sample quantity, dimensional and appearance criteria, functional requirements, tool action checks and the documents needed before shipment.

Can spare parts and tool documentation be included?+

Yes, when the required spare components, tool drawings, material records, maintenance information and file formats are identified in the RFQ and agreed in the tooling scope.
